When it comes to providing secure parcel delivery and collection, both Groundfloor and Australia Post offer smart parcel lockers services. This article will highlight the differences between the offerings.
Accessibility and Availability:
Australia Post has a national network of parcel lockers that are available for public use when receiving a delivery with Australia Post. Conversely, Groundfloor’s parcel lockers are courier agnostic, meaning that they can be accessed by any courier company. However, Groundfloor’s parcel lockers are only available for private use to tenants / residents of a building, not the general public.
Design & Customisation:
Australia Post’s parcel lockers come in a standard size, colour, and configuration, and are positioned at Australia Post depots. Dissimilarly, Groundfloor’s lockers can be fully customised by the client, including the colour, size and number of lockers.
User Registration & Location
Users can register to receive deliveries through the Australia Post parcel lockers through their MyPost account. Typically, a user will register for a locker system that is within a few kilometres of their home, and drive to collect their parcel.
Groundfloor users are typically linked to the building’s management software, meaning that the lockers do not require any additional registration. Further, the lockers are also located on building premises, making the task of collecting a parcel quick and efficient.
Additional Services:
Groundfloor has also partnered with iBag Intelligent Dry Cleaning to allow tenants / residents to have their clothes professionally laundered and returned to the lockers to be collected at their convenience.
In summary, Australia post offers a nationally available public locker network, accessible to those that are receiving a parcel through Australia Post. Groundfloor operates a locker network in private buildings that are accessible to tenants of the building.
